Back in April, a New York Yankees fan was caught by the cameras snoozing in the stands during a game against the Red Sox…
Sleepy though he may have been, the man is wide awake now and he’s either fuming mad or ambitiously opportunistic… He’s suing ESPN and Major League Baseball for $10 million because of that footage, claiming it contains an “avalanche of disparaging words” that went out to millions of viewers.
He even claims the announcers called him “a fatty cow that needs two seats at all times and represents a symbol of failure” and that he is “a confused individual that neither understands nor knows anything about history and the meaning of rivalry between Red Sox and New York Yankees.” These remarks certainly are surprising, if true, though the most “vituperative” comments, as he calls them, aren’t in the video posted by MLB to their YouTube channel, of course.
Ironically, whether the suit is legit or not, the man is certainly being mocked more now than he was before.
