Otchan is a pig farmer, but he’s unlike one you’ve ever seen before.
He has over 1,200 pigs, but he doesn’t treat them as just swine to be sold and butchered. Photographer Toshiteru Yamaji spent years documenting Otchan’s bond with his animals. In the US, we may look the other way when farmers raise their animals en masse in deplorable conditions, but seeing how Otchan interacts with his may change your mind on the subject.
