There’s an unlimited number of mediums artists can use to express themselves. Sculptures use clay to give birth to ideas, and photographers use their cameras to show you how they see the world. Ruddy Taveras shows us the world in a way that is simple and beautiful… but entirely unexpected, too.
Some art can be difficult for people to understand at first glance.
Is it satire? What is the photo examining here? What do those fish MEAN?
Those aren’t photos of marbles. He PAINTED those marbles.
Ruddy specializes in painting hyper realistic art.
He began painting before he was even a teenager.
He then moved to Santo Domingo to join the National School of Fine Arts.
There, he honed his (nearly perfect) craft.
His clean and crisp realism is amazing.
Even if you know this is a painting, it’s hard to get lost for a second and believe that it’s real.
Wow.
This takes talent that’s hard to comprehend.
Different artists do different things. Ruddy can replicate the world around him so perfectly, it’s staggering.
That was hard to see coming. Hyperrealism is a genre of painting and sculpture where the resulting pieces resemble a high-resolution photograph. Hyperrealism, an advancement of Photorealism, is so addictive to look at because it looks so natural. For some, the almost-mundane nature of art makes it incredibly exciting.
