Having suffered from epileptic seizures since birth, 14-year-old Rachel Benke keeps her trusty service dog Taxi alongside her at all times, including at school.
When picture day rolled around this year at Rachel’s San Antonio middle school, the photographer snapped a few photos of Taxi. Still, Rachel was pleasantly surprised when the yearbooks came out and she found her beloved companion with his very own place alongside the students he sees every day…
The incredible canine can sense a seizure up to an hour and a half before it comes, alerting Rachel’s teachers and family to the pending medical event. Taxi even stays to the left of Rachel at all times since she falls to her left side when she has a seizure…
