Remarkably calm man films stunning video of the ground opening and closing during an earthquake

This clip from the 2011 UK documentary Japan Tsunami: How It Happened shows an incredible phenomenon called liquefaction that occurs during earthquakes. Never before captured on film, an American tourist in a park (who seems ridiculously at ease with earthquakes) took this video of the ground opening and closing right in front of him.

The clip is set to start and end to just show the 83 seconds of footage from the tourist, but the whole documentary is worth checking out if you have an hour…
