
Brian Singer is a graphic designer who started TWIT Spotting — TWIT stands for “Texting While In Traffic” — where he posts photos of people he sees texting while on his commute. (He insists that he only takes photos when he’s a passenger.)
Taking his project a step further, Singer purchased 11 billboards this month around San Francisco that contain nothing more than the photos he’s posted to his site. Singer told Gizmodo,
My hope is that it will freak some people out and make them think twice before picking up the phone while driving. My greater hope is that it inspires others to start taking photos, too. If enough people started doing this, it could have a dramatic affect on people’s behavior.
Whether or not this is an invasion of privacy, there’s no doubt that Singer is generating conversation and presumably helping keep people’s eyes on the road…
