When Errand Frazier heard purring from his parked Chevy pickup truck, he thought he must be mistaken. Unable to see anything inside the truck, he left an open can of cat food under a tire and setup a camera to see if there really was a cat tucked away.
After finding the food gone the next morning but nothing to show for it on the video, Frazier took his truck out for a fishing trip. When he arrived at his destination, he heard the purring again.
This time, Frazier took what most would consider to be a drastic measure. He grabbed a pair of sheet metal cutters out of his toolbox and cut away the side panel of his truck, prying it back so he could see inside…
Sure enough, a kitten was sitting in Frazier’s truck, the only vehicle he and his wife owned. As animal lovers with a dog and two cats of their own, they had rescued stray kittens before and were hardly concerned about the condition of their truck…
Fortunately, the story doesn’t end there. After word got out about what Frazier had done for the cat, a fundraiser was setup online to cover his truck repairs. With a goal of raising $2,500, the campaign easily surpassed that, putting $4,036 in Frazier’s pocket to fix his truck.
His community has rallied around him as well, with his local Humane Society awarding him the Animal Hero Kids Role Model Award. To top it all off, the rescued kitten has been adopted, adding one more grateful person for Frazier’s selfless gesture.
