Last year, inventor Ryan Grepper tried to get his “21st century cooler” off the ground and into the hands of the masses. And he failed. His 2013 Kickstarter campaign for the souped-up cooler didn’t reach its goal.
But did he give up? Nope. He learned from the experience, redesigned his product, and tried again. This time around to say he succeeded is a bit of an understatement.
As of this writing, the campaign has reached its goal more than 35 times over. Instead of crossing his fingers and hoping to scrape together $50,000 over the course of the campaign, which would have been impressive enough, Grepper now has nearly $2 million in pledges…with weeks still left.
So what is making people so excited?
The cooler you bring to picnics or the beach or the backyard has had no significant innovation for decades. Grepper wondered why, and decided to make a cooler that takes advantage of all of today’s technology.
