As a childbirth educator, there are few people more prepared to have a baby than Kristin Dickerson. When she went into labor in the middle of the night two weeks ago, her husband Troy strapped his GoPro to his head and they left for the hospital.
Troy had filmed the births of their first two boys as well, but this experience would go much differently. Realizing she probably wouldn’t make it to the hospital in time for their baby boy to be born, Troy raced down the Houston freeway while he and Kristin calmly discussed their options.
When the couple finally pulled into Texas Children’s Hospital, where Kristin also works, there wasn’t even time to wait for a doctor. As bewildered security guards looked on, Troy delivered a healthy baby boy on the sidewalk.
The couple was in good spirits over the experience and while Kristin admits that it felt a little personal to post the birth of her son online, she wanted others to be able to see the experience for themselves so they’re aware of what their bodies are capable of.
