Things got a little heated during yesterday’s game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds, but it wasn’t between players on the field. Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams chased a foul ball into the stands, where he was in position to catch it. However, a Reds fan who had brought his best defensive game to the park reached out and caught the ball before Adams could.
Annoyed, Adams seemed to shove the fan with his glove. He later said he was off-balance and was trying to keep himself from tumbling further into the stands, but that didn’t stop the Reds fan from sending Adams back to first base with a one-finger salute…
