Mothers and fathers want nothing more than to help their children’s dreams come true. That isn’t always possible, but for a man in San Francisco, he did his very best. After going to a theme park, Will Pemble’s son Lyle asked his dad a simple question: “Why don’t we build our own roller coaster, dad?” Most people would think that would be impossible to give their son, but not Will.
He set out to make Lyle’s dreams come true by building a roller coaster in his own back yard. Both of them were excited and committed to the project. They didn’t care how long it would take them to complete because it was their passion. Talk about father and son bonding!

They used simple materials like PVC pipe and wood to create this awesome kinetic coaster. To see it in action, watch the video below. A friend named Meg stopped over to try out the coaster… and she wasn’t disappointed!
Check out CoasterDad to see even more videos of rides and engineering updates. He was so inspired to complete this project because of his children Lyle and Ellie. He wanted to instill a passion for learning and science in his children (and others). We love this incredible father and son project. If you do, too, share it!
