When Jaime Maldonado was walking to the grocery store on Saturday, he heard some good strumming and singing from a guy sitting against the building, so he pulled out his phone to record a quick video before he went on his way. Then, as he was recording, another passerby who had stopped to listen started singing backup.
But the moment wasn’t complete. As two guys (who seem to either be on break or just off work) walked into the store, one caught sight of what was happening and decided to postpone his errand and bring his voice to the jam session.
The best part is…they’re really good.
In two days, this video has gotten 2 million views. Maldonado’s Facebook has exploded since he posted the clip. He has located the guitar player — Jesse Rya — and now they’re trying to locate the other participants in this almost magical musical moment.
If they’re all found, don’t doubt there will be a studio version of “I Just Don’t Know” in the near future. (Though if you ask Rya, his answer is…I just don’t know.)
Until then, we have to wait and take Rya’s word that…
Just for the record… it’s not a Jimmy Kimmel setup and I do not know the other 2 gentlemen in the video. You would be surprised how much music flows in the streets of DFW!
I want to believe.
